The second Blamstrain CD on Merck, a collection of remixes of several tracks from his debut album “Ensi”. We chose a varied and all-star lineup of Merck and non-Merck remixers including Mesak (1/2 of Mr. Velcro Fastener), Proem, Funckarma, Isan, Gridlock, Mosaik, Taho, Lackluster, Syndrone, No Xivic, and a special closing track by Blamstrain himself. His first album straddled the divide between IDM, electro, and techno; these remixes bring an even greater diversity to the sound he is associated with. From Mesak’s intelligent electro, to Isan's lush melodic downtempo reconfiguration onward to Lackluster’s 4/4 breakdown and into Blamstrain and No Xivic’s dark ambient closers. A cd for dark nights and early mornings, watching the traffic shift in cities downtown.
